More than 950 tobacco growers and tobacco workers recently participated in a series of on-farm safety and compliance training events that were sponsored in part by Hail and Cotton International Group.
The workshops, which were held in Georgia, Kentucky and North Carolina, were conducted by GAP Connections, a non-profit organization for agricultural standards and practices of which HCIG is an active member.
The free, bilingual training seminars covered a multitude of subjects from first aid to equipment safety to help farmers and their employees work toward and maintain a safe working environment while understanding their rights and responsibilities as an employer and an employee.
HCIG is committed to sustainable agricultural practices and farm safety through our sponsorship of events like these and we will continue to devote our resources to more courses like this in the future.
